Annamaria Balazs
How people, organizations, and AI systems create impact in the agentic era.
I work with senior leaders on AI strategy, governance, and the organizational decisions that determine whether AI creates meaningful value.

The Argument
As AI makes intelligence and analysis increasingly abundant, human judgment becomes more important.
The advantage shifts from producing more answers to deciding what matters and what to act on.
What I Work On
Organizations can have strong criteria for evaluating AI investments and still fail to decide well because ownership is unclear, authority is fragmented, decisions are not revisited on a cadence, and stopping conditions are absent.
AI investment decisions operate at two distinct layers.

I developed this two-layer framework to explain why good AI investment analysis does not necessarily lead to good decisions.
My work spans both layers, with particular focus on designing the decision systems that turn investment judgment into decisions organizations can make, govern, revisit, change, and stop.
The Wider Territory
The broader questions I explore are:
AI Investment & Value Creation
How organizations decide where AI can create meaningful value and where it cannot.
Agentic Organizations
How governance, operating models, decision rights, accountability, and human-agent work change as AI becomes part of the organization.
Leadership & Strategy in the AI Era
How leaders make decisions, set direction, and exercise judgment when intelligence and analysis are increasingly abundant.
People & Talent in the Agentic Era
How human capability, careers, and professional value change as AI reshapes the nature of work.
